annual report
This annual report is a mirror reflecting how the Mission and Vision of the AGS have materialized positively in day to day working of our school in the voyage of the discovery of par excellence. There have been many changes at the school this year in terms of high expectations, communication, behavioral management, empathy, professional development, technology and above all, academics. The academic year began with an orientation programme which was conducted for the parents to decipher the school’s philosophy, curriculum, pedagogy and protocols., in accordance with the rules governed by the CBSE.
As per our traditions, all the National Days and festivals are being commemorated to make the students learn about our culture, heritage and to make children aware of the pressing issues concerning the environment and the world. Feeling of patriotism is being reinforced through events like Independence Day, Republic Day and other celebrations are also designed for Grovians like World Heritage Day, Grandparents’ Day, Yoga Day, Say ‘no to plastic’ to name a few. Awareness among the young minds is also created by observing the days like Save the Planet. To imbibe values- festivals like Diwali, Navratri are celebrated with gaiety.
Besides celebrating the heritage and culture of the nation, Sports meet is organized to tap into the kinesthetic skills of the Grovians and hundred percent participation is ensured.
Not all learning happens in the classroom. Schools today are all about providing a holistic education that perfectly balances academic and co-curricular activities. It is one of the reasons behind the growing popularity of school clubs. Students of various age groups spend time with each other, learning and honing their talents and acquiring numerous life skills in different school clubs.
AGS looks at each learner as a unique ‘whole person’ with inherent genius, special capabilities and unlimited potential. In a conducive and encouraging environment the students gain substantial experience, get opportunity to showcase their talents by participating in skill-based activities. This enhances their personal aptitude and also improve their Listening-Speaking-Reading-Writing (LSRW) skills to polish their communication. These activities are conducted on every Saturday as per the annual schedule.
To kindle the curiosity of Grovians towards education, Field Trips and Excursions are undertaken annually. These trips help in inculcating a spirit of teamwork and self-reliance among students.
To ensure the effective learning outcomes, AGS also strives to keep the teachers abreast with changing paradigms in education. The school facilitates the participation of teaching faculty in a wide range of workshops/seminars/in-service training programmes organized by CBSE to sharpen their competencies, to adapt them to the new teaching methodologies, and to enhance the knowledge of their subject.
Teachers shape the minds of our children and our future. There really are no words to express gratitude for all they do. Many of them are role models and make a huge difference in the lives of children. To pay respect to the backbone of the system and to elevate their spirits, our school organizes a day out for the teaching faculty.
We at AGS intend to achieve the multi-dimensional growth i.e., physical, social, intellectual and spiritual being of Grovians. Therefore, we invite eminent personalities of the society to interact with our students and bless them to touch the sky. Thus, our school’s philosophy can be summarized with this small quote:
“If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.”
